Bluesky is seeking to recruit a talented individual to join its expanding business on a full-time/part-time/flexible-working basis at our head office in Ashby-de-la-Zouch, Leicestershire. The successful individual will help us with our continuing provision of world class geographic data and services to our wide customer base, covering a large range of market sectors. The role is to own and drive the end to end bid process from qualification to contract award. 


Knowledge and experience of aerial survey and geographic data sector is not required but would be advantageous.

The purpose of the role is to own and drive the end to end bid process from qualification to contract award, work alongside the existing sales, marketing and production teams and assist with securing contracts and ensure that all opportunities are maximised.

The responsibilities for the position include but are not limited to:

  • Find and identify suitable bid opportunities primarily in the UK, Ireland and USA however not limited to these locations

  • Manage existing tender alert sites and identify new services to ensure no relevant opportunities are missed

  • Manage the bid qualification process for all new opportunities

  • Direct virtual bid teams and inputs from sales, marketing, production, finance, commercial and legal teams

  • Prepare and review the commercial aspects of the bid, to ensure all services are included in the final price to the customer

  • Risk tracking and management throughout the bid process

  • Contribute to the written proposal in terms of content and presentation

  • Develop relationships and partnerships with external third parties to fulfil bid requirements as required

  • Manage and maintain all standard bid documents

  • Point of contact during the bid process

  • Manage the annual bid budget

  • Ensure timely delivery of compliant and commercially sound bids

  • Understand and resolve complex technical, strategic and business issues

  • Have a sound understanding of legal contracts

  • Ensure all necessary sign off/authorisation has been achieved prior to bid submission

  • Arrange all post bid reviews with customers and internal teams post contract award

  • Grow and develop the bid management team


  • Demonstrable experience in bid management and procurement systems and processes

  • Strong commercial and risk management skills
