Bluesky has two calibrated Vexcel Ultrascan 5000 photogrammetric flatbed scanners, with automatic film feeds to allow scanning to take place on a 24-hour basis. This means we can fulfil projects in a Bluesky uses Vexcel UltraScan 5000 scanners for its aerial photographic film scanning. timely fashion and maintain our high level of quality to a geometric accuracy of ±2µm.

Scanning

Bluesky understands there are many hundreds of thousands of analogue aerial photographs in the UK alone, and we are committed to the conversion of these historical archives to a digital medium, in order to enhance their usefulness, improve their accessibility and increase their longevity. If you possess an aerial photographic archive it will cost less than you think to digitise it. Bluesky will manage the entire project and will ensure the films are securely held whilst in our possession.

Apertune
Over the last two years Bluesky has been working in conjunction with AGFA to help develop their cutting edge aerial photography image enhancement software, Apertune. As one of the main beta testing sites, Bluesky was instrumental in the introduction of much of the functionality and removal of bugs. Bluesky continues to use the software since its release, which has enabled the scanning department to devise innovative techniques to achieve the highest possible quality from scanned negatives.
