Building Models for Visualisation

3D Studio Models are accurate and detailed 3D building models that have been textured with our aerial photography. These models are designed to drop straight into today's 3D visualisation software such as 3D Studio MAX, Maya and Rhinoceros. You'll soon be creating stunning fly thrus and visually dynamic pictures.
The downloadable file includes 3d Studio Max .MAX and .3DS files.

Building Models for Computer Aided Design

3D building models in formats compatible with commercial CAD software such as AutoCAD and MicroStation. The models are drawn to a geographic coordinate system for accurate measurement and planning. Once in your CAD software, you can rotate, navigate and zoom in to and around the buildings.
The downloadable file includes Microstation .DGN, AutoCAD .DWG and .DXF, WaveFront .OBJ and Google SketchUp files.

ProximiTREE™

ProximiTREE™ is a digital map layer accurately depicting the location and extent of trees and their proximity to buildings. Designed as a tool to aid Local Authority officers, insurance assessors and property developers, ProximiTREE™ details the exact spatial location and height of individual trees, together with the circumference of its canopy. From this information the potential impact can be assessed.

LiDAR 1m Digital Surface Model (DSM)

This LiDAR DSM data includes all of the buildings, trees and other features on the ground.
The download includes XYZ and ARC ASCII Grid files.

LiDAR 1m Digital Terrain Model (DTM)

This LiDAR DTM has had all surface features removed, such as vegetation and buildings, to leave a bald earth terrain.
The download includes XYZ and ARC ASCII Grid files.

GeoPerspectives 2m Digital Surface Model (DSM)

This GeoPercpestives DSM data includes all of the buildings, trees and other features on the ground.
The download is an ARC ASCII Grid file.

GeoPerspectives 5m Digital Terrain Model (DTM)

This GeoPerspectives DTM has had all surface features removed, such as vegetation and buildings, to leave a bald earth terrain.
The download is an ARC ASCII Grid file.

Thermal Imagery

Once combined with OS MasterMap or a similar building polygon database it is possible to measure the heat loss from individual buildings and pinpoint the most inefficient properties.
The image file available for download here is a greyscale TIFF image and its accompanying world file.

Birmingham

This 1 sq km area of Birmingham was flown in 2007. It was captured using a Vexcel UltraScan digital aerial camera at 10cm per pixel.
The downloadable Zip file includes JPEG World, MapInfo TAB and XML files.

Hertford

This 1 sq km area of Hertford was flown in 2010. It was captured using a Vexcel UltraScan digital aerial camera at 25cm per pixel.

West Sussex

This 1 sq km area of West Sussex was flown in 2007. It was captured using a Vexcel UltraScan digital aerial camera at 12.5cm per pixel.

Night Aerial Map

This is a sample of night aerial map photography taken in Sweden. It is captured on a high specification digital camera and processed to a resolution of 25cm.
The download includes a JPEG image file.

Colour Infrared Imagery

Colour Infrared imagery provides another layer in the GIS dataset. It can be used to determine moisture content in the natural environment.

Historical Aerial Photography

This sample is of an area in Nottingham. It was taken in the 1940's and has since been highly developed.

Global Mapper (32-bit) (V12.2)

Global Mapper is a sophisticated GIS package which allows multiple datasets to be opened concurrently. The software opens raster, vector, elevation, satellite and GEOTIFF data among others. Aerial photography can be draped over the elevation data to give a 3D effect. Each layer of data can be viewed independently or jointly, blending from one to another with ease.
This version is for 32-bit versions of Windows only

ER Viewer

ER Viewer is a software package created by ER Mapper to view, in particular, their native ECW format image files. As well as opening ECW images, ER Viewer is also a high speed viewer for other file formats including TIFF, JPEG and JPEG2000. The software gives the user the ability to save out portions of the files or print them, as well as GIS tools such as measurement and area calculation.
